“A lovely country pub / resturant”
A friendly pub with a nice welcoming feel to it. Great choice of food at realistic prices. Staff were very friendly and efficient , would definitely recommend.
“Superb pub and restaurant”
When staying at the B&B opposite pre cruise we enjoyed a great lunch and evening meal at this delightful country retreat in the New Forest. The evening meal was beautifully presented and cooked with ample proportions for the biggest appetite. The prices were pretty average for the standard of food and even on a Monday night there were a lot of people dining there, certainly a sign of good food. It has plenty of olde world charm and if we find ourselves in that vicinity again we will not hesitate to return again.
“A new but oldie pub ..”
Have a great meal with local beer and while your time away eating good food washed down by cool beer watching the wild deer slowly meander through the woods onto the open field opposite ...very relaxing ..
“Excellent meal with friendly staff.”
We had an evening dinner at the Sir John Barleycorn after a recommendation from the owners of Twin Oaks, a superb small country hotel across the road.
The food was excellent, atmosphere genial, and the staff welcoming. Do try the mushroom and goats cheese starter....... totally delicious. You cannot fault this wonderful country pub situated in Cadnam...part of the New Forest. We hope we get to visit again next time we are in that area. Try it you will not be dispointed!
The staff were very professional and friendly. I had steak and kidney pudding which was absolutely delicious, followed by orange polenta cake which was equally delicious. Very pleased.
